Several years later, Malin ascended to the top of the ranks when she won the prestigious Ford Supermodel of Canada title. Only 17 at the time of her victory, Malin Akerman spent her next three summers parading down European catwalks while building a reputation as one of the planet’s most promising young models.

Despite her success in modeling, Malin Akerman made the transition into acting with a guest role on the trippy sci-fi series Earth Final Conflict in 1997. Other parts soon followed on television shows such as Relic Hunter, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, A Nero Wolfe Mystery, Entourage, and The Comeback, where she played the recurring role of Juna Millken opposite Lisa Kudrow.

Malin Akerman also branched out into film, appearing in The Skulls (2000), The Utopian Society (2003) and the popular stoner comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004).

In 2006, FHM recognized this blonde beauty by ranking her at No. 80 on its list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World.

Malin Akerman gained even more exposure from her work in the films Heavy Petting (2006), The Visiting (2007), The Brothers Solomon (2007), and The Heartbreak Kid (2007), a hilarious romantic comedy featuring Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan. “It’s sort of a remake of The Heartbreak Kid [1972],” she explains. “I’m playing the fiancee, the one that (Ben Stiller) marries and turns into a wacko, so I got the really fun role.”

Further expanding her film career, Malin Akerman was cast in the 2009 film Watchmen, a Zack Snyder comic-book adaptation.
